Local Aging & Disability Action Plan (LADAP): A blueprint for the future of your community

The Local Aging & Disability Action Plan (LADAP) is a blueprint for promoting healthy aging and supporting quality of life. The plan will allow local government, the private sector, and philanthropy to prepare for upcoming demographic changes in our older adult and disabled population.

While California has a 10-year Statewide plan, the California Department of Aging recognized the importance of engaging communities like Yuba/Sutter to develop their own, locally informed master plan for aging, called Local Aging & Disability Action Plan.

Locally, Yuba/Sutter’s Local Aging & Disability Action Plan will include recommendations for improvements to housing, transportation, healthcare, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, behavioral health & social support, and caregiving.

What is a Local Aging & Disability Plan?

In January 2021, the State of California began to implement a new Master Plan for Aging (MPA), a 10-year blueprint for state government, local government, the private sector, and philanthropy to prepare for these coming demographic changes.

About the Local MPA Grant Program

The Local Aging & Disability Action Planning (LADAP) grant program of the California Department of Aging (CDA) provides over $4 million to 20 organizations to develop local age- and disability-friendly action plans. With these resources, California partners are improving their community’s livability for people of all ages and abilities with local plans that center on community engagement and equity principles and practices.
